Geography according to med school

Here's a map with my 33 schools:

There were 125 to choose from. I'm theoretically eligible at about 100.

I've been to every state where I applied except Puerto Rico. Location was everything. I only applied to schools that:
1. I'd give up my dog for (NYC), and/or
2. I'd like living there, and
3. The admission stats are from this planet.

I'm a very mature professional person, and I thoughtfully chose my schools.

1. I arbitrarily took Wisconsin over Minnesota. I'm sure this is about drum corps (finals were always in Madison, and the Scouts had a killer rifle line). I can't think of a reason I picked West Virginia other than drum corps.
2. I arbitrarily took Kentucky over Tennessee. I think this has something to do with horses and Barbara Kingsolver.
3. I applied to every school that was in the path of Katrina/Rita. After picking Tulane it became a mission.
4. I applied to Vermont, obviously, because they voted to impeach. Like, last year, before it was cool. Ayuh.
5. I applied to a bunch of schools in Philadelphia because my Virginia is moving there from Kauai. I applied to Hawaii because she's there now.
6. I applied to Texas because the Bennetts are there, even though Galveston smells bad. The Bennetts smell fine. Plus without Anne Richards and Molly Ivins, Texas is low on uppity liberal women.
7. I largely avoided the midwest. Couldn't get excited about a wide swath from Nebraska through Ohio. Avoiding Illinois and Ohio is probably foolish.
8. You could give me a full scholarship to Utah, Oklahoma or Missouri and I wouldn't go.
9. California schools are either super hard, or 7th day adventist. Really, just been there done that, yeah. I picked my reach schools on the eastern seaboard instead.
10. I went for 2 DC schools because the first half of my first year will be a big fat election. Yesssss. Spontaneous community limo cheering/jeering and EVERYBODY knows the issues.
11. I picked Miami and Puerto Rico because they're by far the most likely schools to be allowed to partner with Cuba again.
12. I very recently got more excited about Boston after watching The Departed. I want a reason to drop my r's and be tough like Mark Wahlberg.
13. I have no opinion about Virginia (the state) but I applied there anyway.
14. After I applied to Wake Forest I realized it's in WESTERN North Carolina and it's reeeeally Baptist. D'oh. At least they have Edwards.
15. I applied to all the schools that gave Eunice a job offer.
16. I was only going to apply to blue states, but then it occurred to me I could be a subversive red state vote. Mwa ha ha.

A LOT of thought went into it. A LOT.

I have applied to med school. Thank you for your support so far.

All my transcripts are in except for Pasadena City College. I went there in 1988. You know, when my competitors were still colicky.

I should find out how I did on the MCAT in about a month. I'll be spending most of the next year keeping this process going.
