med school apps update: maybe 24 maybes left

I'm finally done with all of my secondary applications, and I tellya, I'm really quite over the need to tell you how special I am and how much diversity I'll add to your program. Somebody give me an interview already.

Interviews are the next thing that will happen, if I'm lucky. Some time between now and March, maybe I'll get to be interviewed by an admissions committee or two. Maybe not.

Here's a rundown:

I applied to 34 schools.
7 rejected me right away (Louisville, Virginia Commonwealth, Wake Forest, Hawaii, Eastern Virginia, West Virginia, South Alabama)
2 have requirements I can't meet (Wisconsin, Ponce)
2 have said hello but haven't asked for anything (Kentucky, Davis)
3 haven't acknowledged my existence (San Antonio, Galveston, Houston)
20 gave me secondary applications (Boston, New York MC, MC of Wisconsin, Temple, George Washington, Georgetown, Tufts, Dartmouth, Mt. Sinai, Vermont, SUNY Downstate, Jefferson, Einstein, NYU, Drexel, Tulane, UW, Oregon, Colorado, Miami)
Fees associated with these secondary applications: $1961

Boston rejected me yesterday. 19 to go, and I might still hear from 5 more.

Thankfully I don't have much time to think about all this - school's tough this quarter!

Further bulletins as events warrant,
Cy
